Was set up on a blind date by her friend Lorna where she met her husband Moody, which was the same year her nephew Neil was born.  Sylvia and Moody were together for 30 years before she died

In 1997 Silvet was first diagnosed with cancer and although it was the worst thing anyone could ever be told, Silvet decided that the cancer was not going to beat her and that she would beat it.

Silvet fought a very long and hard battle and but in the end the cancer got the better of her.

Silvet is an inspiration to me and many others, I loved her resolve and determination as a young woman.

This is the date that we lost our mum to Ovarian Cancer.  Our mum was first diagnosed with cancer in August 2001, she was told that the cancer would be back within 2 years, it came back in year 3 and finally took her life.  The family was completely devastated to lose such a wonderful person from our lifes, I know my life will not be the same within my mother and my sister in it.

While our mum was in hospital Silvet was also having chemo as her cancer had returned almost at the same time.  Silvet vowed that the cancer was not going to beat her.  She did fight a long and hard battle and it's heartbreaking to watch someone you love suffer so much.

This is testomony to how brave and determined she was, grieving for the loss of her mum and having to go through the chemo.
