Helen Message to Sis and mum November 18, 2014
I have been thinking about you and mum quite a lot lately and mainly because I have been feeling you around me, sometimes with a hand of reassurance on my head when I'm feeling stressed or down.  So much has happened since you left us some better and some not so good.

I'm struggling on despite all the ups and downs that life has thrown to me.  You will never know how much I miss not only my sister, but also my best friend, someone with whom I use to call upon at any time, all the belly laughs we use to have and the partying and just being around each other constantly.

Things havent' been the same and never will be the same again.

Mum I miss you equally as much, your beautiful smile (which I have been told we have all inherited) especially since you kept dad in check (yes he has got out of hand and won't listen to anybody).

I am trying to keep sane but there are times when it is so hard.  The people you think would stay close haven't really, people are so distant these days so wrapped up in their own lives they don't have time to think about anybody else.  I guess that is life.

I just needed to say these words as I have been feeling down lately.  Hope the angels are looking after you both until we meet again.

Love you always.

To the family of Silvet

I lost my mother last April 16th - one yr ago from lung cancer. She had quit smoking yrs before - but according to her it was too late - the damage was already done - she was diagnosed in 2000 - I know how you must have felt when the 'c' word came out of this dr's mouth & it kicks you in the stomach. We were ready to fight with her - & we all did! My mother & us kids fought for 7 more yrs - she even developed breast cancer from the radiation. the truth is she never complained - I'm not just saying that!  My husband & I took her to her treatments along with other members of the family - that's when I saw the look on her face, a scared look - & I wanted to cry so many times - but I couldn't - I wouldn't!  She beat that too!  Our mothers sound so much alike - When I read Silvet's story I was reliving last yr at this time. I hope my mom & Silvet meet up there - they would like each other! They would have alot to talk about - their Families!!!!!!

God Bless You Silvet

Diane

VENITA & MARY MISS YOU April 22, 2008

Helen Mum March 18, 2008
This is a memorial that Sylvia wrote for our mum after she passed and I thought it appropriate to be included on Sylvia's memorial page.
"It has been a hard year without our dear departed mother.  She was not just
a wife, mother, grandmother to us all but an aunt,  great-aunt and sister
but she was most of all our best friend.  We used to talk every day, every
week and every waking moment about how wonderful life was.  She also spoke
of life beyond and how she was not afraid to be with our beloved Lord, she
listened to our problems, jokes and she gave advice whether we comforted
them or not.

Mum was loved by all her family and friends, she was a pacifier to those who
listened.  We do not have her in our lives but we have her in our every day
thoughts.

She was a wonderful women who was loved by many here and abroad.  Gone but not forgotten by her entire family.

Samuel her loving husband
Sylvia, Helen, Jennifer and John her children
Neil, Delaney and Dom-Unique, her grandsons and
Jade and Tianna her granddaughters

Her remaining brother Sherwin and sisters Baby and Ida, niece and nephews
and numerous friends also love her dearly.

We all miss her and there is not a day gone by without her name being
mentioned (Muriel Agatha Patterson), until we meet again our beloved, Wife,
Mother and Grandmother loving you forever."

Debbie Just to say March 9, 2008
